As a postdoc in this project, you will develop and apply modelling techniques and model-data fusion to improve our understanding of drought stress risks in Swedish forests. This includes work with data from ICOS stations in Sweden, the flux footprint model FFP, and the dynamic ecosystem model LPJ-GUESS.

The position offers a working place within an enthusiastic and interdisciplinary team at Lund University that covers a broad range of expertise from atmospheric dynamics, ecosystem modelling, experimental greenhouse gas flux measurements, and stakeholder exchange. The project involves close collaboration with partners from the forest industry, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, and the Swedish Forest Agency, and further links to teams working on carbon cycle and forest modelling and measurements in Europe and beyond.

You will be supervised by Natascha Kljun at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Science, Lund University, and Tom Pugh and Cecilia Akselsson, both at the Dept. of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, Lund University.

Deadline for applications is 15 August 2024. We aim to start the 2-year fully-funded Postdoc position in October 2024, or according to agreement.
