Head of Field Experiments and Instrumentation (m/f/d)
(Full-time/part-time, initially limited to two years, with permanent employment possible)
Background and position description: The MPI for Biogeochemistry operates field installations to measure material fluxes and terrestrial ecosystem properties. Measurement stations include tall towers in Russia and Brazil, eddy covariance stations in Germany, Spain, Russia and Brazil, and other long-term field installations and experiments in our greenhouse facility. The jobholder (m/f/d) is responsible for the planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of measurement stations, field instruments and related infrastructures. They will work in close collaboration with the scientists. The jobholder (m/f/d) is also responsible for the Institute’s central electronics and machine shops, which enable the development of novel instrumentation to support research.
